CollectiveSpend is hiring a Contract Management Specialist – Capex & OPEX Procurement for a full-time on-site role with our client in Abu Dhabi. This project is expected to last for a duration of 2 years. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of procurement contracts related to works, services, and materials. The position includes drafting and reviewing commercial and technical contract terms, managing contract risks, supporting supplier negotiations, and ensuring all contractual obligations are fulfilled in line with internal policies and procedures. You will also manage contract renewals, changes, and extensions, and play an active role in resolving disputes and claims. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong governance, documentation, and reporting capabilities to ensure compliance and operational excellence across the procurement function.
Contract Lifecycle Management
- Monitor and oversee large, complex contracts, ensuring all agreements and supporting documentation are accurately filed and readily accessible
- Draft and review both commercial and technical terms and conditions, ensuring alignment with award criteria, internal standards, and applicable legal frameworks
- Negotiate contract terms with suppliers and safeguard the organization’s contractual position
Risk Management and Compliance
- Identify and highlight potential contractual risks to internal stakeholders for proactive risk mitigation
- Ensure suppliers adhere to the full scope of work, terms, and conditions outlined in their contracts
- Review supplier performance regularly in coordination with end users and the Supplier Management team, based on predefined KPIs and criteria
Operational Execution
- Manage all contract-related activities including change orders, renewals, extensions, and dispute handling
- Ensure timely and proper closure of contracts in accordance with established procedures
- Provide subject matter expertise and support in resolving disputes and claims involving suppliers
Organizational Responsibilities
- Maintain awareness and strict adherence to procurement and contracting policies and procedures
- Actively participate in periodic audits and contribute to the continuous improvement of contracting practices
- Prepare and support the development of periodic reports and escalate any non-compliance issues observed during contract execution
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or any related field
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5–10 years of experience in a similar functional role, specifically in contract management or procurement
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of contract law, procurement governance, and supplier performance management
- Proficiency in drafting and interpreting contractual clauses (technical and commercial)
- Excellent negotiation and dispute resolution skills
- Ability to manage multiple contract lifecycles concurrently
- Attention to detail and the ability to assess risk with sound judgment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to engage internal and external stakeholders effectively
